About the Role

The FP&A Manager/Accounting Manager leads key financial planning, analysis, accounting, and internal control activities that support the division’s operational and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Controller, the role delivers critical financial insights, ensures accurate reporting, and drives continuous improvement across the finance function. In financial planning and analysis, the manager leads the monthly forecast cycle and the annual budgeting process, builds and maintains forward‑looking financial models with multi‑scenario analyses, and delivers weekly and monthly forecasts that highlight risks, opportunities, and performance trends. They oversee variance analysis, trend reporting, KPI monitoring, produce executive dashboards and board‑level reports, and conduct deep‑dive profitability and cost‑optimization analyses. Within accounting and reporting, the manager serves as a backup for the accounting manager, guarantees accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end reporting in compliance with GAAP and Nucor policies, and drives continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. As a financial liaison, the manager develops a deep understanding of production, operations, and cost drivers, partners with operational leaders to translate financial insights into actionable decisions, and provides training, coaching, and development for finance teammates while promoting financial literacy across the organization. They also actively contribute to the division leadership team, supporting Nucor’s culture, policies, and continuous‑improvement initiatives. • Lead the monthly forecast cycle and annual budgeting aligned with strategic goals. • Build and maintain multi‑scenario financial models. • Deliver weekly/monthly forecasts, variance analysis, KPI monitoring, and executive dashboards. • Conduct profitability and cost‑optimization analyses, including product margins and capital allocation. • Ensure accurate month‑end and year‑end GAAP reporting and drive accounting process improvements. • Serve as backup for the accounting manager and enhance accounting systems and controls. • Partner with production and operations leaders to translate financial insights into business decisions. • Provide training and coaching to finance team members and promote financial literacy organization‑wide. • Uphold Nucor safety policies and standards in all activities.

What You Bring

Safety is a top priority at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business and at least five years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferred qualifications are CPA, CMA, master’s degree or MBA, strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, manufacturing or cost accounting experience, SAP experience, and prior leadership experience. • Minimum: Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Business and 5+ years manufacturing finance experience. • Preferred: CPA/CMA/Master’s/MBA, advanced Microsoft Office, manufacturing cost accounting, SAP, prior leadership experience.
