About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Vinyl/PVC Welder is to set up and operate the vinyl RF welder according to the production schedule. The role involves measuring, reviewing, and laying out PVC/Vinyl materials per order specifications, programming the welder, changing tooling as needed, welding material, inspecting finished pieces for quality, and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on the equipment. • Set up and program vinyl RF welder per production schedule • Measure, review, and layout PVC/Vinyl materials according to specifications • Change tooling and adjust equipment as needed • Weld material using vinyl RF welder • Inspect finished pieces to ensure customer quality standards • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on welding equipment • Keep work area clean and organized • Operate forklift and overhead crane safely • Use hand, power, pneumatic, and measuring tools • Read and interpret reports, work instructions, blueprints, and safety documents

What You Bring
Safety is paramount at Nucor, and the welder must consistently uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. The position requires a strong mechanical background, the ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, blueprints, and safety documents, as well as competence in operating a forklift, overhead crane, and various hand, power, pneumatic, and measuring tools. Physical demands include occasional lifting of 30‑75 pounds and frequent squatting, kneeling, and standing. • Lift 30–75 lb occasionally; squat, kneel, and stand frequently • High school diploma/GED or 2–4 years related experience
