Job Highlights
About the Role
The role provides electrical support in the rail‑spike manufacturing facility, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. The incumbent answers calls to keep production lines running, performs preventive maintenance, and maintains induction‑heating systems, rebuilding coils as needed. Responsibilities also include configuring, programming, monitoring, and troubleshooting PLCs, network switches, servers, and HMI workstations, as well as operating spike‑forging equipment to give operators breaks. The employee will develop and implement continuous‑improvement projects while upholding Nucor’s safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

What You Bring
Minimum requirements include willingness to work both day and night shifts, at least two years of experience in electrical maintenance (or equivalent training or military experience), and knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, instrumentation, automated systems, PLC and HMI programming, and variable‑frequency‑drive troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. • Knowledge and experience with induction heating systems • Two‑year degree in electrical maintenance technology and two or more years of industrial electrical maintenance experience • Extensive AC and DC motor and drive experience • Knowledge and experience with power systems maintenance • PLC systems building, programming, and troubleshooting experience • HMI (Wonderware, FactoryTalk) building, programming, and troubleshooting experience
