About the Role
The engineer will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of escalator units across the London Underground network, ensuring passenger safety and reliable operation. Daily tasks involve performing breakdown and repair work, managing the escalator portfolio, and delivering first‑time fixes wherever possible. A proactive approach is required to respond quickly to breakdowns, minimise downtime and liaise directly with customers on‑site to build strong working relationships. The role also includes using electronic and digital tools to support maintenance activities. • Perform breakdown and repair work on escalators across the London Underground portfolio. • Ensure first‑time fix to minimise service interruptions. • Liaise directly with customers on‑site to maintain strong relationships. • Utilise electronic and digital tools for maintenance and reporting. • Apply strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills. • Prioritise safety in all activities and communications. • Participate in the Employee Scholarship Programme and receive intensive training.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold at least an NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering, have significant experience with various escalator brands, and possess a valid UK driver’s licence. Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, a safety‑first mindset, good communication abilities and the flexibility to work overtime are essential. • Hold NVQ Level 3 Escalator Engineering qualification. • Demonstrate extensive experience with multiple escalator brands. • Maintain a valid UK driver’s licence and flexibility for overtime.
