About the Role
As a Health Safety and Security Manager you will support the Senior Health, Safety and Security Manager and the Head of HSE to ensure that HS2’s health, safety, security and management standards are met across development, delivery and the supply chain. You will also be a role model for the ‘Safe at Heart’ culture throughout the delivery areas. The position involves risk‑based operational assurance, compliance oversight for occupational health, safety and security processes, and assistance with incident investigations. You will also help deliver health, safety and security services to development and delivery teams while promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all activities. • Assist Senior Health, Safety and Security Manager and Head of HSE to ensure compliance with health, safety and security standards across development, delivery and supply chain. • Support risk‑based health, safety and security operational assurance in development and delivery. • Oversee compliance with occupational health, safety and security policies and processes. • Support investigation of health, safety and security incidents and prepare assurance reports. • Provide health, safety and security services to development and delivery teams. • Promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in all work. • Produce and review technical, assurance and investigation reports. • Maintain knowledge of health and safety legislation, occupational health, security policies and assurance tools. • Deliver assurance in large programmes or complex organisations with multiple stakeholders. • Contribute to multidisciplinary Quality or Health & Safety teams and investigations.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving and planning skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of producing and reviewing technical, assurance and investigation reports. A solid understanding of health and safety legislation, occupational health and security policies, together with experience in large‑scale assurance programmes and multidisciplinary teams, is required, as is a professional health and safety qualification or equivalent experience. HS2 does not hold a Home Office sponsorship licence; applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Benefits
The role offers a base salary ranging from £44,380 to approximately £52,212 per annum, dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a flexible benefits fund of 15% of salary is provided, which is fully pensionable, together with a range of other competitive benefits.
