About the Role
Key duties include operating CNC presses, punches, plasma cutters, and other machinery, reading prints, cutting lists and work orders, and accurately using measurement tools such as scales, squares, protractors and tape measures. Employees must keep records for preventative maintenance and inventory, inspect equipment for faults, and move material with overhead cranes, forklifts or pallet jacks as directed. Maintaining a clean, orderly work area, following prescribed safety rules, and upholding quality standards are essential. Workers are also expected to report unsafe conditions, suggest improvements to leadership, and perform any other related tasks as requested. • Operate a variety of machines including shear, auto‑beam welders, CNC plasma cutters, presses, and welding equipment across all shifts. • Read and interpret prints, cutting lists, verbal and written work orders. • Accurately use measurement tools such as scales, squares, protractors and tape measures. • Perform preventative maintenance, inventory tracking and maintain related records. • Inspect equipment, detect faults, and report unsafe or unusual conditions. • Move material using overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other handling equipment. • Maintain a clean, orderly work area while following safety rules and quality standards. • Identify improvement opportunities and communicate suggestions to leadership. • Learn new machines and processes as required.

What You Bring
The role requires operational knowledge of a variety of structural‑department equipment, including shear, auto‑beam welders, plate and flange lines, tack stations, CNC plasma, paint lines, welding, and crane or mobile equipment. Successful candidates must be willing to go where help is needed, maintain a positive attitude, and continuously seek improvement. Safety is paramount at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum requirements include a solid understanding of how to read and use a tape measure, knowledge of the LOTOTO program, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to work effectively in a team.
