About the Role
• Conduct safety checks before starting work at the client site. • Clean, lubricate and test the overspeed governor. • Verify static balancing of units and adjust counterweights and final limits under senior guidance. • Lubricate and test the Safety Action Mechanism according to procedures. • Install door skates and set door locks after inspection mode, checking all bolts and fasteners for proper tightness. • Perform unit safety checks by traveling the car top through the shaft and checking for interference with moving parts. • Test all electrical operations, including car doors, buttons and intercoms. • Escalate concerns to the supervisor and complete NCRs for process infractions and safety issues. • Set contact parameters in the controller and return the lift to normal operation. • Adjust acceleration, deceleration and ride quality to Otis recommended standards. • Inspect motor pits and escalator steps for debris and clean them per safety guidelines. • Test escalators by removing comb plates and winding the motor for a full travel cycle to detect obstructions. • Prepare installation inspection, field test data, safety check reports and the Otis safety audit.
