About the Role

• Operate all rolling‑mill equipment, including Reheat, crane, BD, and UR/sample inspection. • Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime in extreme weather conditions. • Maintain and enforce safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. • Control machines and processes, monitoring performance and addressing issues.

What You Bring

The Rolling Mill Utility will learn and function at a safe, high level in all positions on the rolling crew. This will include the Reheat/Crane/BD and UR/Sample Inspection and other necessary mill duties. This position must either have or attain crane certification within one year of start date. The Utility must have basic computer skills, be willing to operate all mill equipment, and work in extreme weather conditions, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Selection criteria include communication, teamwork, accountability, controlling machines and processes, initiative, and attention to detail. Candidates should be proactive, reliable, and thorough in all tasks. Preferred qualifications include rolling mill experience and successful rolling mill (NYSI) cross‑training. • Obtain crane certification within the first year of employment. • Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, accountability, and attention to detail. • Possess basic computer skills for mill operations. • Preferred: prior rolling‑mill experience and successful NYSI cross‑training.
