About the Role
The Rebar Detailer creates concise, accurate descriptions for reinforcing steel, bar supports, mesh wire and related products, supporting fabrication, delivery, installation and invoicing in the most efficient manner possible. This position supports the entire project lifecycle by coordinating design, production, and field activities to ensure timely and compliant delivery of reinforcing steel components. • Conduct work in line with Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s vision and values. • Review contract documents and verify dates against proposals. • Detail simple projects such as foundations, walls, footings, slabs, stairs, and retaining walls with minimal assistance. • Submit placing drawings for approval, ensuring compliance with ACI 318, CRSI/RSIC and shop requirements. • Process change orders to maximize branch returns. • Manage and maintain deliveries for fabrication. • Communicate with customers, placers, and architects/engineers; submit RFIs as needed. • Coordinate with the Detailing Manager to pre‑order specialty items and keep schedules on track. • Participate in weekly safety and project meetings to share ideas and address issues. • Compare project detailed weight against contract weight. • Identify and inform customers of time or material changes via change order forms. • Review claims of shortages or errors. • Ensure proper coding of bar lists. • Follow projects from estimate through detailing, fabrication, and installation.

What You Bring
Candidates should possess relevant CAD education and experience, and demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and the RebarCAD detailing system. • Gain basic understanding of reinforcing bar industry standards (CRSI, ACI). • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting (or current enrollment). • At least six months of AutoCAD and Windows software experience. • Ability to read architectural and engineering blueprints. • Strong teamwork and problem‑solving skills. • Organized, detail‑oriented with effective time‑management. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. • Preferred: two‑year technical diploma from an accredited institution. • Preferred: construction or concrete‑related experience and knowledge. • Preferred: basic construction or civil technology background. • Preferred: project management experience. • Preferred: experience installing/placing reinforcing steel. • Preferred: experience fabricating reinforcing steel.
