About the Role

The Shift Safety Coordinator serves as a Safety Champion for an assigned department and assists other departments during shift rotation. This professional role offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, including maintaining the ISO 45001 system, interacting with division personnel to ensure regulatory compliance, administering the plant drug and alcohol testing program, and participating in safety initiatives, inspections, audits, and the Special Response Team. • Serve as Safety Champion for the assigned department and support other departments during shift rotation. • Maintain ISO 45001 safety management system. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations. • Administer the plant drug and alcohol testing program. • Participate in safety initiatives, inspections, audits, and the Special Response Team.

What You Bring

The position requires moderate physical activity such as walking throughout a large industrial facility, climbing stairs or fixed ladders, and working at elevated locations, as well as standing for prolonged periods and responding to stressful emergency situations. Employees must be prepared to work in extremely hot, cold, noisy, and dusty environments while wearing required PPE, and may need protective clothing, respirators, or SCBAs. Rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays are expected. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, five years of experience in industrial safety, emergency response services, or a related field, and a nationally registered paramedic certification.
