About the Role
The Sr. Manager will provide strategic leadership to advance Otis’s EHS objectives, partnering with field operations to anticipate hazards, enforce policies, and ensure regulatory compliance. This position drives performance metrics, oversees safety documentation, and leads continuous‑improvement initiatives that reduce incidents and associated costs. Key duties include conducting branch safety audits, leading incident investigations, and creating corrective action plans. The manager will train and coach line supervisors, coordinate hazardous waste procedures, and represent EHS performance in customer and management review meetings. Travel to regional sites—up to 75 % of the time—supports operations across the Northeastern Atlantic Area. • Provide strategic leadership for Midwest EHS compliance and performance. • Partner with field operations to identify hazards, implement policies, and maintain regulatory compliance. • Lead branch safety audits, incident investigations, and develop corrective action plans. • Drive continuous‑improvement programs for incident prevention, ESG focus, and performance metrics. • Manage safety documentation, training records, and hazardous waste procedures. • Facilitate management reviews and report on EHS performance and improvement plans. • Train and coach line management on hazard recognition and risk control. • Travel up to 75 % within the Northeastern Atlantic Area to support regional operations.

What You Bring
Otis is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Senior Manager for its Midwest region, based in Lanham, MD. The role supports the company’s vision of giving people freedom to connect and thrive in a taller, faster, smarter world. Candidates who thrive in fast‑paced environments and want to develop their EHS expertise are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have at least seven years of EHS experience (or ten years in elevator technical field work) within a service or operations environment. They must possess strong knowledge of management systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in physically demanding field settings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and, preferably, elevator technical knowledge are additional assets. • Minimum 7 years of EHS experience (or 10 years elevator field experience) in a service/operations setting. • Strong knowledge of EH&S management systems, policies, and regulatory requirements. • Proven leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration abilities. • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; elevator technical knowledge is a plus.
