About the Role
• Coordinate and train shift mill operators and welders. • Instruct teammates on proper work methods and standards. • Monitor crew work quality and enforce safe work practices. • Document performance, provide feedback, and contribute to reviews. • Understand and manage scheduling. • Implement all safety policies and procedures. • Coach and mentor on work instructions, JHAs, and equipment. • Oversee production paperwork to ensure compliance with standards. • Identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.

What You Bring
Skyline Steel is seeking qualified applicants for the Production Lead position on the second shift, working 4 PM to 4 AM, Monday through Thursday. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and requires a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays as operating conditions require. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures and housekeeping standards at all times. The Production Lead must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and to the overall success of the team. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least three years of experience in a manufacturing or high‑pace production environment, and leadership training or experience. Preferred qualifications are a vocational or technical school certificate in a related area, experience with scheduling, and comprehensive knowledge of all production environment aspects. • High School Diploma or GED required. • At least three years of experience in manufacturing or high‑pace production. • Leadership training or demonstrated leadership experience.
