About the Role

Key duties include performing service and maintenance work on lifts and escalators according to procedures, technical articles, and relevant codes such as the SAA Lift Code AS1735. Technicians must provide after‑call‑back coverage, attend breakdowns, and carry out repairs, upgrades, re‑roping, hoisting, and rigging. They are also expected to identify process‑improvement opportunities, train apprentices and subcontractors, and log leads using Otis‑provided applications. Internal relationships involve close cooperation with field engineers, service mechanics, branch and operations managers, as well as sales account representatives and coordinators. Externally, technicians interact with customers, building owners, managers, government agencies, unions, consultants, and suppliers. • Perform service and maintenance on lifts and escalators following procedures and codes. • Provide after‑call‑back coverage and respond to breakdowns, including re‑roping, hoisting, and rigging. • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction. • Train apprentices and subcontractors in electrical and mechanical skills. • Use Otis applications to log leads and communicate with customers. • Maintain relationships with field engineers, service mechanics, managers, sales team, and external stakeholders.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a valid electrical licence or a Cert III in Electrotechnology and a driver’s licence, with at least five years of experience in the elevator industry. Extensive electrical and mechanical knowledge, strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to transfer knowledge through training are required. Good verbal and written English, intermediate proficiency with mobile and Microsoft Office tools, and a safety‑first mindset are also essential. Applicants should be detail‑oriented, results‑driven, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. • Hold a valid electrical licence or Cert III in Electrotechnology and a driver’s licence. • Minimum five years’ experience in the elevator industry with strong electrical/mechanical knowledge. • Demonstrated fault‑finding, problem‑solving and ability to transfer knowledge through training. • Proficient with mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications. • Access intensive training, modern workwear, tools, and an iPhone for work use.
