About the Role
The Level 1 Process Control Engineer is responsible for automation systems, including design, upgrades, programming, and improvements. This role leads projects from selection through final testing and acceptance, collaborates closely with Maintenance and Operations teams to provide technical expertise, and assists in developing maintenance teams and optimizing operations. Schedule flexibility is required, including working on weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

What You Bring

The Level 1 distinction refers to the automation system architecture (ISA‑95 or Purdue hierarchy of control) and does not indicate seniority or degree of responsibility. • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent experience • Two years of experience in industrial process control/automation • Steel mill experience (melting, casting, rolling, coating) • Project management and commissioning experience • Experience with Level 1 control systems (PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, hydraulic controls) • Proficiency with Rockwell Automation Suite, Siemens Technologies, TMEIC, and other automation programs • Experience with industrial communication networks
