About the Role

The role involves performing a variety of welding and rigging tasks safely, interpreting shop orders and weld symbols, and following supervisor directions to ensure quality production. All tasks are performed in accordance with safety guidelines and quality standards. • Perform all tasks safely and watch out for teammates • Fit up and tack various structural assemblies • Read and interpret weld symbols and follow procedures • Add stiffeners, brackets, face plates per shop orders before final welding • Execute production GMAW welding on plates, bars, and channels according to orders or verbal instructions • Set welding machine for uniform bead, proper penetration, and minimal wrap • Use cutting torch as required • Clean welds with chipping hammer or grinder to remove spatter and burn‑through • Operate overhead crane within its rated capacity • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment • Follow supervisor directions for additional tasks • Participate in profit‑sharing program

CWB GMAW tacking/flat fillet certification and experience are assets. Qualifications include a high school diploma, basic math skills, the ability to read and use a tape measure, and preferably CWB GMAW/MIG certification; prior steel‑industry experience is considered an asset. • Hold a high school diploma • Demonstrate basic math skills for measurement calculations • Read and use a tape measure proficiently • Possess CWB GMAW/MIG certification (preferred) • Have prior experience in the steel industry (asset)
