About the Role
The role focuses on processing nonferrous metals, including weighing material, entering transactions, and overseeing the loading of trailers and containers. Employees ensure compliance with legal purchasing requirements, accurate pricing, proper classification, and timely payment to customers, while maintaining a clean and environmentally responsible work area. • Follow company and OSHA safety procedures. • Weigh nonferrous material and record transactions in the in‑house system. • Oversee trailer/container loading for proper content, weight, and quality. • Comply with legal purchasing requirements (ID verification, seller photo, vehicle info). • Coordinate with other scale operators to prevent duplicate purchases. • Quote nonferrous prices within management‑provided ranges and verify pricing. • Verify correct classification of purchased metals. • Print tickets for customers to receive payment for sold materials. • Perform general labor such as sweeping, shoveling, cleaning, and material handling. • Operate small equipment, including forklifts. • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report defects or repairs. • Assist and direct customers to appropriate unloading locations. • Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with environmental policies. • Scan drivers’ licenses and vehicle tags into a handheld database. • Cross‑train in other positions and assist coworkers as needed. • Operate essential equipment such as forklifts and bobcats. • Greet visitors and direct truck and peddler traffic to proper processing areas. • Maintain dependable and consistent attendance. • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, outdoors in all weather conditions. • Stand or walk up to 12 hours per day.

What You Bring
Successful candidates will thrive in a fast‑paced, nonstop environment, possess at least one year of general labor or customer‑service experience, and be comfortable operating equipment such as forklifts and bobcats. Strong communication skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to stand or walk up to twelve hours daily are essential. • Work in a fast‑paced, nonstop environment while delivering excellent customer service. • At least one year of general labor or customer service experience preferred. • Interact effectively with a diverse customer base. • Follow written and oral instructions accurately.
