About the Role

The Shipping Supervisor leads all shipping, receiving, trim‑parts production, and yard operations to ensure materials and finished goods flow safely, accurately, and efficiently through the facility. This role coordinates all truck shipments—including imports, exports, carrier scheduling, and customer deliveries—while guaranteeing trim parts meet specifications and production needs. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The supervisor must ensure all activities adhere to these safety standards. • Lead shipping, receiving, trim‑parts production, and yard operations. • Coordinate all truck shipments, including imports, exports, carrier scheduling, and customer deliveries. • Ensure trim parts are produced to specification and ready for production and customer requirements. • Champion safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and technical training. • Drive continuous improvement using lean, 5S, and standard work methodologies. • Oversee ERP system usage, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365, for shipping workflows. • Manage carrier relationships and ensure compliance with export documentation.

What You Bring

Minimum requirements include 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, 3–5 years of shipping coordination for both imports and exports, and a strong understanding of ERP systems—Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of safe material‑handling practices and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused industrial setting are also required. Preferred qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, and experience in steel, construction products, or heavy industrial manufacturing. Familiarity with lean practices, 5S, continuous improvement, standard work, and managing carrier relationships, export documents, and compliance requirements is advantageous. Selection criteria focus on effective communication, leadership presence and courage, coaching and development of others, sound judgment, teamwork, dependability, business acumen, and strong organizing, planning, and prioritizing skills. These attributes enable the supervisor to drive results while aligning personal and team goals with Nucor’s overall success. • Require 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. • Require 3–5 years of shipping coordination experience for imports and exports. • Prefer a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field. • Prefer experience in steel, construction products, or heavy industrial manufacturing.

Benefits
