About the Role
Basic job functions ensure machinery and equipment operate smoothly through preventive maintenance on presses, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications. Technicians locate problems by observing equipment, listening for issues, and using precision measuring instruments, then remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools. They assess task times, inspect dimensional changes in parts with the onsite Machine Shop, and adjust functional components with hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. By communicating maintenance schedules to production workers and monitoring compliance, they control downtime and maintain production quality. Safety is the most important part of all jobs at Nucor; candidates must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. • Perform preventive maintenance on presses, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Disassemble equipment and remove defective parts employing hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools. • Assess task duration and inspect dimensional changes in parts using the onsite Machine Shop. • Adjust functional components and control instruments with hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. • Communicate maintenance schedules to production workers to minimize downtime and ensure compliance. • Uphold and lead safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include 2–3 years of experience as an industrial electrical technician in a manufacturing facility, strong technical understanding, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as willingness to work rotational shifts. Preferred qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a comparable field, and experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic. • Minimum: 2–3 years of industrial electrical technician experience in manufacturing and ability to read blueprints and schematics. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial maintenance and experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic.
