NTP-CS Environmental Engineer I

About the Role

The Environmental Engineer will work with the Nucor team to develop and improve the Environmental department and the division. Responsibilities include leading safety, sustainability, and environmental compliance, managing the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, overseeing radiation safety, contractors, and environmental projects, and tracking waste generation, disposal, recycling, and energy use. The role also involves educating and training staff, engaging plant‑wide teams for problem‑solving, maintaining compliance with the site SPCC plan, performing audits, liaising with regulators, completing EPCRA/Form R reports, interpreting regulations, and planning community outreach. Some travel may be required.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Environmental fields or at least two years of relevant engineering or environmental experience. • Experience implementing and maintaining an ISO 14001 or equivalent Environmental Management System. • Experience in air pollution control, water treatment operations, hazardous waste handling, or radiation safety. • Familiarity with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA regulations. • Background in environmental compliance within a manufacturing or industrial setting. • Experience with Title V and/or NPDES permitting. • Willingness to relocate for current or future career opportunities.
