About the Role
As a Health Safety and Security Manager, you will assist the Senior Health, Safety and Security Manager and the Head of HSE in meeting HS2’s health, safety, security and management standards across development and delivery areas, including the supply chain. Key responsibilities include role‑modeling the ‘Safe at Heart’ culture, supporting risk‑based operational assurance, ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety and security policies, assisting incident investigations, and providing HSE services to development and delivery teams while promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. • Support risk‑based health, safety and security operational assurance for HS2 and its supply chain. • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety and security policies and processes. • Assist investigations of health, safety and security incidents and produce related reports. • Provide HSE services to development and delivery teams while championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

What You Bring
The role requires strong teamwork, analytical and problem‑solving skills, effective planning and organisation, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to produce and review technical and investigation reports. Applicants must possess comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, occupational health elements, security procedures, and a variety of assurance tools and techniques. Relevant experience includes delivering assurance on large programmes or complex organisations, working within multidisciplinary quality or HSE teams, contributing to investigations, and holding a professional health and safety qualification or equivalent experience. HS2 does not sponsor visas; candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will be subject to pre‑employment checks, including immigration status, references, DBS, financial and education verification. • Role‑model and embed the ‘Safe at Heart’ culture across development and delivery areas. • Required skills: teamwork, analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, Microsoft Office proficiency, report writing. • Knowledge of health & safety legislation, occupational health, security procedures and assurance tools. • Experience delivering assurance on large programmes, working in multidisciplinary HSE teams, and contributing to investigations. • Professional health and safety qualification or equivalent experience. • Must demonstrate HS2 values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect and have the right to work in the UK.

Benefits
The role offers a base salary ranging from £44,380 to £52,212 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus a 15% flexible benefits fund that is fully pensionable.
