About the Role

The Data Engineer position in Nucor Business Technology is responsible for designing and maintaining robust data models that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives while ensuring data quality, accessibility, and performance. The role works closely with various teams to meet business data needs. • Design and develop data pipelines to collect, store, and process data from D365 and other sources. • Ensure data quality and integrity through validation and cleaning processes. • Develop notebooks, tables, and views to transform raw data into models for Power BI and other tools. • Create Power BI models to assess operational analysis, investment decisions, and business initiatives. • Build dashboards, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and provide performance insights. • Handle ad hoc requests to support business initiatives. • Proactively gather requirements from the business and work independently. • Develop technical documentation detailing ETL processes, data models, and reports.

What You Bring

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. • Minimum 4 years experience in data engineering and data modeling. • Strong knowledge of SQL or Python. • Experience with ETL processes and tools such as Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics/Fabric. • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address data‑related challenges. • Knowledge of D365 entities and tables preferred. • Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors. • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
