What You Bring
Nucor Steel‑Hertford County is seeking qualified applicants for the Roll Grinder/Machinist position. The successful candidate will coordinate housekeeping and safety efforts while performing maintenance, repairs, and improvements on equipment that supports the steel‑making process. This role requires working rotating shifts and a strong commitment to safety. Minimum qualifications include an associate degree in machining technology or at least two years of experience as a machinist. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow and enforce safety policies at all times. Preferred qualifications are five or more years of experience as a job‑shop machinist, a two‑ or four‑year technical degree, and specific roll‑grinding experience. • Hold an associate degree in machining technology or at least two years of machinist experience. • Preferred: five or more years as a job‑shop machinist and a technical degree (2‑ or 4‑year). • Preferred: experience with roll grinding.
