The Role

Overview

Assist with research, mapping, design, and outreach for landscape architecture projects.

Tasks

-Assist with report research, writing, and setup. -Maintain records, collections and files related to specific projects. -Assist with projects related to Parks and Open Space Design, Trail Design, Brownfield Redevelopment, Transportation Planning, Master Planning, Urban Development, Land Use, and Resiliency Planning. -Work alongside landscape architecture professionals for a wide range of projects in New York and Connecticut. -Design and production of conceptual plan views and 3D visualizations to support project development. -Occasional travel to sites throughout Upstate New York and Connecticut may be required. -Research zoning, precedents, and agency regulations as needed to advance projects. -Provide mapping, visualization, and document design support. -Support public outreach initiatives, including preparing meeting materials, meeting attendance and note taking, and preparation of public facing communications.

What You Bring

-A valid driver's license and good driving record required. -Must be able to work in a high-paced environment. -Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. -Previous internship experience a plus. -Basic AutoCAD experience required. -SketchUp experience a plus. -Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Illustrator experience preferred. -Basic ArcGIS and Microsoft Suite skills required. -Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field from an accredited university. -Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required. -Possess solid problem-solving skills.
