The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Prepare submittals and material lists. -Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop detailed schematics and plans for fire alarm installations. -While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects. -Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy. -Remain updated on advancements in fire alarm technology and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal system performance. -Communicate with local officials, engineers, architects, and customers. -Collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements -Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and codes. -Prepare shop drawings/plans using AutoCAD that meet applicable codes and manufacturer requirements. -Conducting site surveys to assess fire risks and building layouts.

What You Bring

-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, manufacturers manuals, and codes to produce designs and submittals to be reviewed by local officials. -The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity. -Valid Driver's License -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II minimum preferred). -Must have good communication and organization skills. -Minimum 2-year of experience of fire alarm designer experience. -Possess professional business communications skills, both written and oral. -Experience with Notifier, Siemens, Firelite, or Silent Knight fire alarm systems. -Be able to develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and accomplish tasks in a timely and safe manner. -Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software. -AutoCAD experience preferred. Other drafting programs may be considered. -High School Diploma or equivalent. -Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
