What You Bring

We are currently looking for a Protection and Control Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in protection and control system design, cost estimating, and bidding document preparation for commercial, industrial, generation and renewables. Typical system voltage levels range from 138 kV to 2.4kV. This position can be filled in any of our New York offices. -Successful track record designing Protection and Control Systems -5 or more years of experience in protection and control system design, cost estimating, and bidding document preparation for electrical transmission and distribution substations projects -Comfortable evaluating the interoperability, control features, and communication/protocol aspects of protective relays, RTU's, LTC Controllers, and other equipment as well as perform power system load flow studies, fault studies, relay setting coordination -A BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology -Knowledge of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards are used in designing substation is critical -Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering, General Electric and Basler equipment -Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and automation (SCADA) is required -Typical requirements include Protection and Control drawings and documentations (relay one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, I/O lists, and relay settings, configuration files and etc), panel construction specifications (panel and interconnect wiring as well as panel layouts and elevations), and other supporting documentation -A PE license from a US State is desired but not required
