Field Construction Coordinator

Oversee field construction, schedule, safety, quality, and compliance for utility projects.

Tasks

-Investigate and report all incidents, near misses, and violations. -Report and support investigation of environmental incidents. -Track contractors redline mark-ups and confirm the latest IFC drawing revisions. -Review and update the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). -Support SAP data tracking, ProjectWise documentation updates, and final as-built submittals. -Conduct safety briefings, daily site observations, and weekly inspections. -Review and verify contractor test data, materials received, and permit compliance. -Ensure adherence to the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (M&PT) standards in public ROWs. -Ensure visitor orientations are complete, and escort protocols are followed. -Initiate and manage outage requests via E-STAR/CONVEX systems. -Review contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP). -Maintain accurate daily logs, as-built drawings, and project documentation. -Support project closeout through documentation finalization and material reconciliation. -Ensure compliance with permit conditions and coordinate with regulatory inspectors. -Support the resolution of construction discrepancies with engineering and contractor teams. -Review contractor invoices and material deliveries for completeness and accuracy. -Lead weekly project meetings and verify contractor two-week lookahead schedules. -Recommend and monitor implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAR/PAR). -Conduct pre/post-energization inspections and document quality findings. -Conduct daily environmental checks and provide weekly inspection reports. -Observe on-site contractor activities; report field issues and public complaints to the PM. -Monitor construction progress and coordinate schedules with project leadership.

What You Bring

-Availability for moderate to extensive travel and overnight stays within the RGE/NYSEG service area. -Strong written and verbal communication skills across multidisciplinary teams. -Minimum 5 years of experience in utility field operations. -Valid driver’s license. -Background check clearance per IUSA Contractor policy. -First Aid / AED certification. -Experience in contractor oversight and quality assessment. -Familiarity with utility materials, asset health evaluation, and inspection programs. -OSHA 30-hour safety certification. -Ability to walk transmission ROWs and distribution lines in varied terrain. -Experience with SAP preferred. -Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, MS Project). -Strong knowledge of utility construction practices for transmission, distribution, substations, and underground networks.
