The company was established in 2005 as a pioneering force in energy storage technology.
£300m funding
Raised Investment
The company secured £300 million in funding from key investors including the UK Infrastructure Bank and Centrica.
50MW/300MWh
Energy Storage Plant
A utility-scale energy storage plant capable of delivering 50MW power with 300MWh storage capacity.
400MWh
US Energy Project
A large-scale energy storage project with a 400MWh capacity in Vermont, United States.
It pioneered liquid-air energy storage, offering utility-scale solutions without geographic limits.
Its proprietary CRYOBattery™ tech liquefies excess renewable power, storing it cryogenically for hours or days of dispatch.
Projects span from UK demonstrators to planned multi-gigawatt schemes in Australia and across the UK.
Systems deliver grid services like inertia, peak shaving, black-start, frequency support, and renewable firming.
With modular tanks and mature components, its storage scales cost-effectively and rivals battery and thermal baseload performance.
A standout: zero-emission, zero-water, non-chemically-based tech boasting a 30–40 year lifespan and half the LCOE of lithium batteries.
