Tasks

-Conduct site investigations and develop construction plans to inform estimates. -Provide conceptual and detailed estimates, including self-perform work. -Stay current with industry trends, equipment, and construction methods. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Support design management and coordination during preconstruction. -Prepare and review proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation. -Interpret and analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents. -Mentor and guide junior estimators and contribute to team development. -Lead and manage estimates for large, complex marine and heavy civil projects. -Participate in group photo documentation and candid moment capture (if applicable to project events). -Assist in developing and refining estimating procedures and historical cost databases. -Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals. -Collaborate with design teams and provide preconstruction services. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

What You Bring

-Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Strong understanding of conceptual, hard bid, and self-perform estimating. -Experience with marine, heavy civil, and EPC projects preferred. -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. -Regular, reliable attendance -7–10 years of estimating experience, with at least 3–5 years as a lead estimator. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. -Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (e.g., Hard Dollar, On-Screen Takeoff, Timberline, MC2).
