Traffic Engineering Designer

Overview

Design traffic signal, ADA, and related plans; conduct studies and analyses for projects.

Tasks

-Prepares reports, recommendations and opinions for approval by a supervising Professional Engineer. -Works as a member of project team in the development of data and/or applications. -Acts as a technical advisor to technical staff. Uses CAD develop engineering and design documents. Participates in firm-wide quality initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. -Performs engineering computations, conducts evaluations, design analyses, and design development. -Applies standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data; recognizes and resolves discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related steps or processes.

What You Bring

-Must be familiar with discipline related software applications. -Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships. -Must have two (2) years related experience. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred. -EIT certification preferred. -Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific, technical, financial and legal documents. -Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community. -Must be able to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis. -Must have Microsoft Office suite skills. -Must be able to apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations
