Tasks
Duties also include building local teams and/or leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world-class services to clients. You may also support business development activities, including technical support of proposal development, for existing and/or new clients across the practice. The successful candidate will be expected to mentor and train junior technical staff locally and/or in other offices. -Leveraging technical experience and expertise while working in close coordination with a PM, to manage and execute the engineering and design components of distribution projects. -Development of technical papers and/or presentations that showcase technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events. -Participating in project reviews as needed. -Working with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attending training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the electrical distribution industry. -At times, leading multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations. -Developing and implementing a project execution plan for the technical aspect of distribution projects. -At times, assisting with development of technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events. -Performing quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams as needed.

What You Bring
As a Distribution Business Class Lead in a well-established Power Delivery practice, you’ll draw upon your broad technical knowledge and experience in design and construction of electric overhead and underground distribution line projects to lead, guide, and advise clients, projects, and teams. Having previously performed a leading technical role on increasingly complex distribution line projects, you’ll be ready to undertake greater challenges and responsibilities. -Ability to work with limited supervision -Highly organized -Experience with electrical and planning analysis software i.e. CYMCAP, ETAP or Polywater Pull Planner -Experience with New Business Designs for Residential, Commercial, and industrial Projects -Experience with reliability, grid modernization, electrification and conversion projects -Experience with data center and renewables projects. -Experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM -Experience using Cad software packages for Electrical Distribution i.e. PLSCADD, MicroStation/AutoCAD/ArcGIS -PE License -Experience with design tools for pole loading analysis: i.e. PLSCADD, Ocalc, SpidaCalc or Pole Foreman -Strong written and interpersonal communications skills -Attention to detail -Excellent time management -Overhead and underground electrical design experience -Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams, regional, department, technical managers and project staff.
