Tasks

-Reviews terms and conditions of subcontractor and vendor quotes; serves as liaison with subcontractors and vendors during the bidding process -Sets up budgets -Reviews all pricing with the Preconstruction Manager -Investigates site before bid, identifying waste area, borrow area and dump sites -Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved. -Participates in presentations to clients (if required) -Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man hour fgures -Determines critical path schedule and sequence of work -Participates in project hand-off meetings; attends meetings with supplies and subs as needed -Reviews proposal specifications, drawings and attends pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate -Reviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials -Ensures all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures -Provides technical support to personnel preparing estimates for assigned bids -Investigates value engineering options -Prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; prices work items -Visits project sites to observe construction methods -Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers -Uses historical unit price and productivity data -Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction -Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values

-Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University and 0-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Must be willing to travel -Updates skills for software tools and technology utilized
