Tasks

-Develop and validate information needed for engineering analyses and applying engineering judgement to solve technical problems while ensuring all engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state and national codes, and standards. -Proactively identify and perform special projects and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex problems with broad impact to the business. Develop innovative alternate methods or design concepts to resolve unique problems or to improve processes/services. -Responsible for leading and creating new conceptual designs and overseeing the work of external detailed designers. -Collaborate across departments as a technical subject matter expert liaison while directing contractors on company policy, standards and best practices. -Perform field circuit reviews based on the projects scope provided and identify proposed improvements. -Provide technical leadership in complex projects that have a wide impact on the department as well as mentor, develop and support team in technical skills working independently with little supervision. -Oversee engineering studies to evaluate equipment and system performance and effectiveness and analyze operational issues in support of system reliability and operational efficiency. -Capital project engineering performance including all phases such as: scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction, and closeout.

What You Bring

-Theoretical engineering knowledge including the planning, engineering, execution, and operation of transmission line infrastructure with sound analytical, modeling & calculation processes. Values cross-functional collaboration and understands importance of growing knowledge and developing relationships across the organization gaining perspective on global view of the business. -3 years of total engineering experience, -Practical engineering experience/application that understands importance of constructability on how designs will be built through field experience and standardization while also performing economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders. -Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering records and review/comment/approve engineering work done by others to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements. -PLS-CADD, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access and Word. SAP and Primavera experience is a plus. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills to articulate highly technical concepts alongside strong management and leadership skills with an ability to drive decisions, change, and adoption of new technologies. -Routine technical skills required include but are not limited to CAD Drafting, Company Procedures, Processes and Standards, Construction and Outage Sequencing, Industry Codes, Standards and Regulations, PLS-CADD Modeling, Project Scoping and Estimating & Technical Writing and Communication. -Unique Technical Skills desired include but are not limited to Foundation Design, Overhead Transmission Line Layout, Surveying, Transmission Equipment Specifications, Transmission Line Maintenance, Transmission Material Selection, Transmission Service Specifications & Underground Transmission Line Design. -Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering, or Construction Engineering Management
