Water/Wastewater Utility Director

Overview

Lead water/wastewater pipeline design, manage projects, client interface, staff oversight.

Tasks

-Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents. -Prepare construction and design cost estimates. -Build and oversee staff -Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations. -Production of contract documents including plans, specifications and opinions of probable construction costs (OPCCs). -Perform engineering duties in planning and designing large and small diameter water and wastewater pipelines. -Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation.

What You Bring

-Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies. -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent. -Horizontal Directional Drill experience is a plus -Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines. -Responsible for or willingness to learn project management, client interface and business development of future projects. -Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus. -Preferably 15 years or more (minimum of 12 years of experience) in water/wastewater projects with demonstrated background with JEA on linear stand-alone pipeline and utility relocation projects. Pumping station and treatment plant project experience are a plus. -Possess strong organizational and time management skills. -Ability to work independently. -Professional Licensure and Society Memberships -FL PE License is required.
