Tasks
This position is responsible for managing the risk of the organization through the effective use of contracts, insurance, risk management policies, legal services and safety protocols. This position is also responsible for assuring that the company is effectively maintaining all required corporate filings and business licenses. -Works with counsel to adjust template contracts balancing operational needs with good risk management practices. Implements training for new employees who are assuming positions which utilize or administer contracts. Works with brokers to review insurance requirements outside of the company’s normal course of risk management guidelines and coordinates with the President of the company to determine optimal path forward. -Ensures appropriate tools are implemented company wide to support lien notice services and the placement of liens as necessary. -Help coordinate legal issues utilizing approved counsel. Serves as point of contact for counsel and ensures that insurance coverage is leveraged. Coordinates and seeks insurance approval of counsel. Organizes and responds to production of documents under advice of counsel. -Ensures that the safety programs of the organization are effectively implemented and appropriate for operations; coordinates with Human Resources Manager. Programs include auto, equipment and daily worker’s compensation exposures. -Working with surety broker, serves as the coordinator of company’s surety bonds. Ensures proper contract reviews are accomplished, evidence of financing protocols are being met and bond requirements are consistent with the company risk objectives. Maintains list of active bonds and close-out of same.
