-Incumbents in this class are required to participate in the District's Shave-on-Demand policy when required to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment. -Work unusual shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays when required.

What You Bring

-Possession and maintenance of a California Water Environment Association Laboratory Analyst Grade II certificate within one (1) year of appointment is required. -One (1) year of technical experience in water, wastewater, environmental, or industrial laboratory testing, analysis, and control. -Possession and maintenance of a California Water Environmental Association Laboratory Analyst Grade I certificate is required upon appointment. -Possession and maintenance of a California Water Environment Association Laboratory Analyst Grade I certificate within two (2) years of appointment is required. -Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in water, wastewater, environmental, or industrial laboratory testing, analysis, and control comparable to the Environmental Chemist I. -Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with major emphasis in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a closely related field.
