Overview

Handle receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of materials in a warehouse.

Tasks

-Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment -Read specifications, drawings, prints, schematics and photographs. -Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as assigned and hold appropriate license. -Use basic processes of inspection/examination procedures for material. -Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials IAW prescribed storage methods; -Identify, examine, classify, accept, reject, and dispose of material as per DLA regulations. -Routing materials to prescribed storage locations -Count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels. -Receive data from and input data to Warehouse Management System and other automated supply systems in performance of duties. -Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties. -Prepare reports relating to distribution functions. -Make preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment. -Load material on and off skids, pallets, and stands. -Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage -Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials

What You Bring

-Position requires U.S. Citizenship and pass a US Government background check. -Ability to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail. -Proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site. -Ability to acquire license to use Material Handling Equipment (MHE). -3 years specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, or related areas. -Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques under supervision of senior staff or management. -Proficient with Microsoft Suite products including, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software. -High School Diploma or GED required. -Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license. Must be certified to operate MHE in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Operators must be able to safely access, control, and operate the equipment within all physical design and safety limitations defined by the manufacturer.
